Phil Kadet is a multi-talented musician based in New York City. He is an entertainer, composer, arranger, music director, producer, conductor, and accompanist, working in many diverse genres of music, from rock and roll to opera. He is the keyboardist for the New York space rock band Escaper, with a new album Momentum due out June 17, 2020. He is a regular fixture as a solo musician, band leader, and collaborator in cabarets and night clubs, state-wide and internationally, including frequent club dates in Los Angeles and New York, international ocean liners, as well as a residency in Paris, France.
Since 2013, he has been a collaborative pianist and guest artist with the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, a world class training and performance program on the Big Island of Hawaii. This past August, he became a collaborative pianist and music director for Cantos Para Hermanar al Mundo, a series of classical concerts presented in the city of Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico. He is also a staff accompanist for the voice program at NYU Steinhardt. Accomplished in the world of musical theater, music director credits include The Last Five Years, Grease, Thirteen, Spring Awakening, and recently, orchestra conductor and music director for West Side Story at the Kahilu Theatre in Waimea, HI.
This past year marks his debut as a solo recording artist, releasing two albums, First Takes and Kadet Christmas. While in performance chiefly a pianist and singer, he also enjoys playing guitar. And riding a bicycle. At the same time.
